Connecting Members to the Larger Union Movement
Most union members are primarily interested in information about their own situation and action they can take to improve it, yet successful strategies increasingly require unity among members throughout a local union or with members of other locals, other unions, community groups, or even allies overseas.
Checklist for Member Writers
Leaflets and newsletters are published by our local union as a way to build member involvement and new strength and unity among union members and to help win better pay, benefits, security, working conditions, and the resources we need to provide services we can be proud of.
Building Member Support for Organizing
Frame the goal in terms of uniting with us more workers who do the same kind of work or deal with the same employers so we all have more strength to win improvements, not in terms of the union organizing workers just to help those workers or to add numbers, size, or power to the institution.
