About This Site

Online Resource Center. TheWorkSite.org provides free, downloadable tools that can be adapted for use in educational or grassroots organizing programs, campaigns, or trainings.

World Wide Work bulletin. You can also sign up to receive the free emailed bulletin, World Wide Work, that will alert you to useful or interesting new books, films, music, and web sites. The bulletin is published 8 times per year. We will not share your email address with anyone.

Blog. Our blog provides information and commentary on issues important to working people; tips on useful books, films, and web sites; experience and analysis regarding successful or unsuccessful education and organizing; and updates on tools added to this site. You are welcome to add your comments regarding blog entries.

Alerts on new content. Use the RSS feed feature found on the blog page if you want to know when new content has been posted on the site. Google Reader is one of many tools you could use for that purpose.

Inquiries and suggestions. Click on "Suggestions for This Site?" to send suggestions about the site or inquiries about the Center's services and programs.  

TheWorkSite is operated by the American Labor Education Center, an independent nonprofit founded in 1979. The Center provides educational resources and services, often in collaboration with other nonprofit groups, universities, and unions.

The Center and this site are directed by Matt Witt, who for more than 35 years has helped nonprofits and unions with communications, campaign strategy, training, organizational change, and opinion research and message development. He has directed national communications programs for SEIU, the Teamsters, and the Mine Workers, and taught communications at American University.
